BSA Welcomes Team Japan

Torrevieja’s Beach Sprint Academy Welcomes Team Japan, Showcasing the Town as a Premier Sports City on the Road to LA 2028

Founded by Ander Martín and Eimear McCormack in 2024, Torrevieja’s Beach Sprint Academy (BSA) continues to cement its reputation as a cornerstone of the town’s growing identity as a sports city. Recently, BSA hosted Team Japan for an eight-day training camp, joining the ranks of top-tier teams from the USA, Great Britain, the Czech Republic, and local athletes from Real Club Náutico Torrevieja.

As we look ahead to the LA 2028 Olympics, where beach sprint rowing will make its debut, Torrevieja is quickly becoming a global hub for international teams. Marina Salinas offers an ideal launch point, and the town itself blends vibrant local culture with top-tier training conditions.

Eimear McCormack, co-founder of BSA, shares: "We are absolutely blown away by the number of high-caliber teams and athletes choosing Torrevieja. Not only are we attracting clubs and national teams from around the world, but we are also retaining them. With 2026 shaping up to be a bumper year for the academy, it's fantastic to showcase Torrevieja to a global audience who come not just for the training, but to experience our local culture, food, and everything this city has to offer."

Ander Martín, co-founder and Spanish national athlete, adds: "As an athlete myself competing at the top level, creating an environment where athletes come first is very important to us here at BSA."

We at BSA believe deeply in Torrevieja's ethos as a sports city, and we're proud to contribute to that vision on both a local and international level. Our social media presence is also a testament to our reach, with our content on Instagram and Facebook averaging 250,000 views per month. We invite everyone to follow along at instagram.com/beachsprintacademy to see the action firsthand.
